A man was arrested during a Manchester derby after reports
of a gesture mocking the Munich air disaster.
The arrest was made after fans of both Manchester City and
United reported the incident at the Etihad Stadium.
"During the Manchester derby [on Sunday] officers
arrested a man on suspicion of tragedy chanting," Greater Manchester
Police said.
"Following reports made in the crowd, the man was
promptly arrested," Greater Manchester Police added.
Twenty-three people, including eight United players, died in
the air disaster in 1958, which happened as their plane was trying to take off
in snowy conditions in Munich.
